Day 31 Ride Report: Exton, PA to Jersey City, NJ

Bob and Buddy meet Ground Control (and Lauren the waitress) at the mouth of the Holland TunnelJersey City, NJ

July 13th - Having commuted to and from Philly yesterday on the Lincoln Highway, we allowed ourselves to circumvent the city and grab a detour to New Hope, PA for brunch — another last-day indulgence. We found pleasant, uncrowded, country roads and fewer people in the streets of New Hope than would be typical for this time of year. Our waitress told us there were indeed fewer "shopping bags" walking the streets. We‘ve found the economic pinch to be pervasive across the Lincoln Highway.

Piaggio MP3 Lincoln Highway Google Earth RideMap #1 Now Available For Download…

As of 1500hr ET, Piaggio Ground Control has made public the Piaggio MP3 Lincoln HIghway Google Earth RideMap (.98b), comprising data, routing and images collected from Buddy & Bob from Day 1 through midnight of last night - a total of two weeks progress deeply embedded in a KML cross-linked back to the Road Reports posted daily here.

If you like the Google DayMaps posted here daily, if you want to see in even greater detail Buddy & Bob’s Herculean efforts to navigate their MP3’s down the ever-elusive Lincoln Highway, then you’re going to love our Google Earth RideMaps. You will have to download Google Earthdon’t worry, it’s free - and we will be posting easy directions as the countdown proceeds this afternoon.

 TWO full Google Map Maps are now live:

1) No Age Limit: The Piaggio MP3 Lincoln Highway Ride 2008 Progress Map
2) No Age Limit: The Piaggio MP3 Lincoln Highway Ride 2008 Photo Map

The Progress Map - updated several times per day - displays routing, lunch & gas stops, and Buddy & Bob’s location through a combination of road reports and GPS data from the TomTom unit mounted on their Piaggio MP3s.

The Photo Map - updated once per day - displays the precise location at which Buddy & Bob have taken so many amazing pictures, also viewable in the Gallery section.
