While our two transcontinental champs are on the way to Denver, why not click back through the photos of their journey so far? The PhotoMap is updated all the way through yesterday’s day off in Fort Collins, so take a few to scroll back through time and westward through space to overlooked destinations like Evanston, Ely and Auburn.

Started the day with a 0900hr MT visit to Steve & Roxanne Eddins’ Piaggio dealership in Ft. Collins, CO. Steve & Roxanne, like Chuck & Melanie Barber in Orem, UT are a married couple totally committed to their dealership, motorcycles, scooters and —most of all — their customers. They are another model of a customer focused team. You don’t have to be an organizational psychologist to know here’s a couple who derive enormous satisfaction from building their business. When a reporter asked me to what I attribute my 48 year marriage, my response was shared interests. I predict that Steve & Roxanne have many happy years ahead.

Our intrepid chroniclers of the Lincoln Highway are at Beemers & More, Fort Collins’ Piaggio outpost, right now for an appearance and to get the MP3s checked out after rumbling the rough roads of rural Wyoming. If you’re in the area, pop by and say hi — they’re scheduled to depart around 1100hr MT, but if we know Bob, he’ll be there answering questions until nightfall unless Buddy drags him away from the throngs. The address?

We suppose it’s just that Lincoln Highway time of year, what with the Lincoln Highway Association Conference happening and whatnot. Whatever the reason, it’s wonderful that Buddy and Bob hooked up with kindred spirits from Pittsburgh’s PBS affiliate WQED during the making of their Lincoln Highway documentary. The boys have mentioned their near miss and eventual reconnection with Rick and Bob from WQED. Rick’s returned the favor in his own blog. It’s definitely worth a look, and we can’t wait to see the finished doc. Check out Rick’s musings on our gentlemen here.

Day 10 - Laramie, WY to Fort Collins, CO
After a late arrival in Laramie on Saturday night, as a result of spending several hours with the PBS documentary crew, we had a drink, managed to stay awake while eating, made it back to the motel and did our blog update in the morning…which resulted in a late start today.
Bob & I typically camp when touring, and the MP3’s back seat is ideal for a bag with all necessary camping gear. Prior to the tour we made the decision to bag the camping so that time would be available for the blog and the media events. It was a tough choice. since camping brings us closer to the environment and intensifies the feeling of having a self-contained world. No one said our 15 minutes of fame would be easy.
